Venchi at The Ambrosian Pantry

Venchi was founded in 1878 by 20-year-old chocolatier Silviano Venchi in Turin, the historic capital of Italian chocolate making. His first creation, Nougatine (chopped PGI Piedmont Hazelnuts in caramelized sugar covered in dark chocolate), earned him the title of "most elegant chocolate shop in Piedmont" and remains in production today with the original recipe unchanged since 1905. For nearly 150 years, Venchi has been crafting chocolate and gelato using the finest ingredients from Piedmont, including their signature PGI Piedmont Hazelnuts.

Venchi is one of Italy's oldest and most respected chocolatiers, with over 180 boutiques worldwide. Their chocolate is made without palm oil, artificial colors, or hydrogenated fats. Their Chocoviar line, Cremino bars, and chocolate-covered nuts are among the most celebrated Italian confections in the world. Each product reflects nearly a century and a half of Piedmontese chocolate-making tradition.
