This wildflower honey is what’s known as polyfloral, meaning many types of nectar were collected by the bees to make it. It could contain any combination of white holly, gallberry, sawtooth palmetto, and tulip poplar, depending on what’s blooming and the whimsy of the bees. The bees visit over two million flowers to produce one pound of honey.
Savannah Bee Company was founded by beekeeper Ted Dennard in Savannah, Georgia. Ted learned beekeeping from a legendary beekeeper named Roy Hightower and has built a company dedicated to exceptional honey from carefully managed apiaries across the American South and beyond. This is the kind of product that defines what The Ambrosian Pantry is about.
