Rustichella d'Abruzzo, found deep in the Vestine hills, takes its origins from the old pasta factory, Gaetano Sergiacomo. Founded in Penne in 1924, it wanted to conserve the tradition of homemade production, focusing on special and regional shapes to go beyond the boundaries of Abruzzo. In the family firm Rustichella d'Abruzzo, the best durum wheat semolina is selected and mixed with mountain water with the same care and tradition of the past.

Rustichella d'Abruzzo celebrated their 100th anniversary in 2024, and a century later they still make pasta the same way: bronze-extruded, slow-dried, from the finest Italian durum wheat and Apennine spring water. The difference is immediately obvious when you cook it. The pasta has a rough, porous surface that grips sauce, a firm al dente bite, and a wheaty flavor that industrial pasta simply cannot replicate.

Pairs with: Ragu, arrabbiata, baked pasta dishes, or a hearty meat sauce.
Perfect for: Fans of short pasta, baked pasta lovers, and a versatile shape that holds sauce beautifully. Products like this are why people seek out The Ambrosian Pantry. Find it at 263 Josephine St in Cherry Creek, Denver, or at theambrosianpantry.com.
