A distinctly Mexican expression of cacao and mezcal, crafted with cocoa beans from Comalcalco, Tabasco and reposado mezcal from Santiago Matatlán, Oaxaca, widely regarded as the world capital of mezcal.
The mezcal is made from 100% Espadín agave, crushed by traditional stone tahona, fermented in oak vats, double-distilled in copper stills, and rested for two years in white oak barrels. Cuna de Piedra gives the cacao a deeper roast to complement the spirit’s mature, woody character.
The result is a sophisticated 73% dark chocolate with layers of deeply roasted cacao, warm oak, cooked agave, and the lingering complexity of barrel-aged mezcal. A beautifully balanced bar that celebrates two of Mexico’s most storied ingredients.
This bar won Bronze at the 2023 International Chocolate Awards’ inaugural Mexican National Chocolate Competition. It scored 85.8 points in the category for dark chocolate bars with an infusion or flavoring.
