Spiegelau makes all of its glasses from lead-free crystal glass, meaning no lead is added to the glass. The company says the ingredients it uses instead make its glasses more brilliant than other glasses, and it describes its bowls as crystal clear and colorless.
Why does Spiegelau make so many glass shapes?
Spiegelau says its functional glass shapes and high-quality surfaces are designed to bring out a drink's aromas, colors and tastes. Aromas are the scents that reach your nose as you sip. When it made a line of cocktail glasses, the company said the shapes were built to work with a drink's character, such as its aromatics or its carbonation (the bubbles).
