Tyrone Hazen founded Puffin Drinkwear in Bend, Oregon, in 2019. The idea came at a campfire with friends, where he wanted to keep his beer cold and his hands warm and wondered whether a beer bottle could have its own sleeping bag.

Puffin's drinkwear comes in mini hoodies, puffy jackets and other fun designs, along with collaborations such as Peanuts and Realtree.

The sleeves insulate the drink and keep hands warm while you hold it. Puffin makes its drinkwear for cans and bottles of all sizes.

What is a can cooler?

A can cooler, often called a koozie, is an insulated sleeve that fits around a can or bottle to keep the drink cold. The insulation also keeps your hand dry, away from the water that beads on the outside of a cold can, called condensation. Puffin designs many of its sleeves to look like clothing, such as mini hoodies and puffy jackets.

Why does an insulated sleeve keep hands warm too?

Insulation slows heat moving in either direction. Around a cold can, the sleeve keeps warmth from your hand, the sun and the air from reaching the drink, and the same layer stops the cold can from drawing heat out of your fingers. That double job is the campfire idea behind Puffin Drinkwear: a cold drink and warm hands at the same time.
