Kendra Lee Miller Art questions

What is a risograph print?

A risograph is a stencil printer. It burns the image into a thin master sheet, wraps that stencil around an ink drum and pushes ink through it onto paper, one color per pass, so a print is built up in layers of solid color. Its rice oil-based ink works best on uncoated paper. Kendra Lee Miller makes risograph prints alongside her paintings and cards.

What is gouache?

Gouache is a way of painting in which a gum or an opaque white pigment is added to watercolor to make it opaque, so the color sits on the surface of the paper as a continuous layer instead of letting the paper show through. It is also known as body color or poster paint. Kendra Lee Miller paints in gouache as well as working in risograph, clay and digital media.
