Does Curious Elixirs use alcohol?

Curious Elixirs sells all of its drinks as nonalcoholic, and its cocktails are made without spirits. They come ready to drink, with no mixer needed. In place of a spirit, the flavor comes from organic juices, herbs, spices, roots and botanicals, in recipes developed with bartenders, herbalists and food scientists.

How does Curious Elixirs get a bitter edge without alcohol?

Bitters are a flavoring made by steeping botanicals, plant parts such as roots, bark, leaves and flowers, in strong alcohol, and a dash or two gives many classic cocktails a bitter edge that balances their sweetness. Because Curious Elixirs makes its drinks without alcohol, founder JW Wiseman worked with food scientists to create alcohol-free bitter extracts, aiming for the depth and complexity adults expect from a cocktail.
