Conservas De Cambados questions

What is a ría?

A ría is a funnel-shaped inlet formed where the sea has flooded the lower part of a river valley, so it is wide at the mouth and narrows inland. The Rías Baixas are four of them on the coast of Galicia, in northwest Spain, and their nutrient-rich waters support a wealth of marine life and aquaculture (farming fish and shellfish). The Ría de Arousa, the largest, holds more than 2,400 mussel rafts.
