Paris region, France
Founded

Known for
French syrups for drinks and desserts

Bacanha started in 2013 out of a family story, with one aim: to give syrup back its standing. The syrups are made in the company's workshop near Paris, and the aromas and infusions are created in Grasse, in Provence.

Each recipe is built from natural extracts, essential oils, fruit juices and herb infusions, sweetened with organic cane sugar from Brazil bought through the Native cooperative. The company uses organic ingredients whenever it can, and the syrups contain no colorings or preservatives.

Flavors include fruit, flowers, nuts, herbs and spices, along with caramel. Use them in cocktails and mocktails, stir them into sparkling water or a latte, or pour them over desserts.

Bacanha questions

What is Grasse known for?

Grasse, a town in Provence in southern France, is a center of the perfume industry, and roses, jasmine and bitter orange blossom are grown nearby for perfume. Bacanha creates the recipes and aromas for its syrups there.

How do you use Bacanha syrups?

The syrups are concentrated, so they are meant to be diluted. Bacanha suggests about 2 to 3 cl (roughly 3/4 to 1 oz) per drink, stirred into still or sparkling water and adjusted to taste. Bacanha also suggests the syrups in cocktails with or without alcohol, in coffees and lattes, and in desserts.
