Mariage Freres is France's oldest tea house, founded on June 1, 1854 by brothers Henri and Edouard Mariage in Paris. But the Mariage family's involvement in the tea trade stretches back to 1660, when their ancestors Nicolas and Pierre Mariage voyaged on behalf of King Louis XIV and the French East India Company to Persia, Madagascar, and India. The original boutique at 30 rue du Bourg-Tibourg in the Marais district of Paris remains in operation today, over 170 years later.

Mariage Freres curates a collection of over 1,000 teas, treating each one like a grand cru wine: with reverence for terroir, vintage, and the art of blending. Their Jardin Premier label guarantees the purest quality, sourced directly from the planter with ethical and sustainable practices. Their teas are served at Le Meurice in Paris, Claridge's in London, and the Mandarin Oriental in Bangkok and Singapore. The company operates tea salons in Paris, London, Berlin, and throughout Japan. Marco Polo, their signature fruity and flowery black tea, is one of the most celebrated tea blends in the world.
